Microveda :It is a first of its kind contains comprehensive web-based system for agriculturally important microorganisms providing information on various categories of microbes viz (bacteria,fungi, actinomycetes,archaea and cyanobacteria).The database has various sub-components which include Microbial Database Search (MiDaS), knowledge models,Geographical distribution and location based search.

MiDaS will provide information of microbes related to Taxonomy, Ecology, Morphological, Biochemical properties, Genomics, importance etc. Knowledge model have up-to-date information on all aspects of the microorganisms. Geographical distribution of Agriculturally important microorganisms provide details about organism from different Geographical region of India and maps particular microbial strain location base search  based search option maps particular strain of a microorganism by giving exact position(latitude and longitudinal),source of isolation, cultural conditions,depositors name , culture collection source with its accession number and year of isolation. There is also trait wise listing of authenticated microorganisms housed at various culture collections especially NAIMCC at ICAR- NBAIM.

Data Source: The information in MiDaS and knowledge model is made available by team of Scientists and associates at ICAR-NBAIM as well as other contributors and their affiliations mentioned at appropriate place.The location and geo tagging along with some passport data information’s like depositor(s) name in taken from National Agriculturally Important Microbial Culture Collection in-house culture collection, (NAIMCC)
